Seersuckers and Lip Dub on The Lower East Side
By far, one of the most hilarious things that I've encountered in a long time happened Sunday night. Shortly after stopping into my local watering hole for what was supposed to be a "final nightcap," these two guys dressed in identical Seersucker Suits and matching pink dress shirts, came in and sat down right beside me. Considering it was a Sunday night and The Sixth Ward was somewhat sparse, everyone in the bar couldn't help but notice them. Other than the obvious fact that it's a bit unusual to see anyone adorned in matching outfits, but in matching Seersuckers (blue and white pin stripes) and on the L.E.S.??? Naturally it immediately struck up a conversation amongst us all.
Nate and Kristian aka LipDubb.
It turned out that Kristian and Nate, both computer guys and technology strategists, had just shot a music video that afternoon. Eerrrr, huh?!? Come again???? While Nate ran home to bring back the "demo" to show us, Kristian explained how "Lip Dub" is the newest craze and a huge phenomenon in Japan and how "everyone all over the internet is doing it."
Being the fact that it was the first nice Sunday, weather wise, that we've had in New York since the end of Winter, the guys decided to take advantage of it and staked out Sara Roosevelt Park, just on Houston and Forsyth. After getting dressed up in their matching suits, they set up a tripod and a cool little digital video camera called The Flip and masterfully and hilariously lip synched their way through D.A.N.C.E. by the French Band Justice.
Why they both own matching Seersucker outfits is a mystery to me, but it sure made for an awesome Lower East Side video. Check out their moves.

So I guess I wasn't paying too much attention that night when we watched the vid with Kristian & Nate because their lipsynching skills are mediocre
